CHALLENGE
Bad Hombre Group approached us after acquiring a new venue in the heart of Edinburgh's student district. They asked us to transform a stark white space into an alternative dive bar to host classic drinks, debauchery and dirty delicious smash burgers!
APPROACH
Heavily inspired by punk culture with a rock n' roll attitude our brief was to create a venue that look like it's lived a little. We worked hands on wild posting hundreds of classic posters and gig flyers and then invited an army of local street artists to take creative license and tag the entire venue. We upcycled, recycled and reused to ensure authenticity and allowing us to feature unique pieces throughout.
A careful balance of industrial mesh, 11m long blackened steel bar and exposed brick with a bold chequerboard hand painted floor, leopard print upholstery and red neon strip lighting contrasted with more tactile finishes such as fringed vintage pendants and rich velvets to ensure a feast for the eyes, creating a truly immersive experience with an approachable vibe.
RESULTS
As with all our projects we couldn't do it without our significant others. Working with our trusted suppliers of graffiti artists, metal workers and build team we worked seamlessly together to allow for a quick 4 week programme which allowed the client to open in time for the Edinburgh Festival.
